Our People
Dominic Lockhart, Director
Dominic is the founding Director of Leisure Training and Development Limited. He combines his role at LTAD with his career in the London Fire Brigade where he works as a Leading Firefighter. He is also a Trainer Assessor and Mentor with the Royal Life Saving Society.
Dominic is a qualified instructor in various disciples in areas such as First Aid, Health and Safety and aquatic based qualifications such as the National Pool Lifeguard Qualification.
Prior to joining the emergency services, Dominic worked within the leisure industry for over 15 years in various roles including as a Fitness Instructor, GP Referral Instructor, Pool Lifeguard and Operations Manager.
Dominic’s knowledge and experience leave him perfectly placed to talk with clients about their staff training needs and offer the perfect solution to their needs. He is at the forefront of our Training Delivery whilst leading the LTAD team overall, ensuring we deliver excellence to our clients.
Lee Bushby, Business Manager
Lee combines his position as Business Manager with LTAD with his role as a Community Technical Instructor for Northumbria Health Care.
Lee has worked in Sport and Leisure for over 20 years, starting as a Leisure Assistant, Pool Lifeguard and Gym Instructor for an international hotel chain. He then joined a local authority to take up a role as a GP Referral Instructor, delivering exercise programmes to customers who had been referred to the gym via their GP’s. This role involved mentoring new and aspiring leisure staff who were undergoing leisure apprenticeships.
Lee also has experience in membership sales for the various organisations he’s worked for. These experiences make him perfectly placed to sit with our clients and discuss the best and most cost-effective approach to their staff training requirements.
James Adams, Trainer
James combines his position as a Trainer with LTAD with his full-time position as a General Manager for one of the UK’s largest leisure operators.
He delivers monthly training to Pool Lifeguards at one of our regular sites in Hertfordshire, preparing them for their assessments by ensuring they keep their skills and knowledge up to date. James has also contributed towards the delivery of training staff on the National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers and Coaches.
James holds TA status with the Royal Life Saving Society, giving him the ability to deliver a range of aquatic based qualifications such as the National Pool Lifeguard Qualification.
Grace Hill, Trainer
Grace is one of our Lifeguard trainers. She combines her role at LTAD with her job working as a Lifeguard Supervisor for a private health club along with her university studies. She is a Trainer Assessor with the Royal Life Saving Society.
Grace delivers ongoing staff training to Lifeguards at a high-profile Central London club who are affiliated with LTAD.
Grace was introduced to Lifeguarding at a young age through the Rookie Lifeguard programme where she dedicated her Saturday mornings for nearly 5 years. This naturally progressed into becoming a Lifeguard herself, and then into training the next generation of Lifeguards.
Grace’s extensive experience and in-depth knowledge of the National Pool Lifeguard Qualification allow her to pass on her knowledge and experience to existing lifeguards through ongoing training
and new Lifeguards at the start of their journeys.
